​Precision Rifle instruction held at both our Main Training Center and Long Range center ranges with target sets out to 1,300 yards. Designed for the intermediate to the advanced shooter.

Introduction to Positional, Tripod, Barricade and other front support. Multiple target engagement.

Physical exertion will be low to moderate.



Course Details


Advanced Rifle Skills with Precision Rifle | Long-Range 102​ Training

This intermediate to advanced precision rifle training builds on the PR101 program to advance from the basics to a more skilled level for serious shooters. Advanced rifle skills in PR|LR 102 training provides serious shooters two full days of classroom and long-range target sets.

Prerequisite: Precision Rifle 101 or other approved training

Advanced Rifle Skills topics will include:​

  • Range Safety Rules and Range Brief
  • Shooting positions: Positional, Tripod, Barricade and front support (along with prone)
  • Multiple Target engagement
  • Continued collection of ballistic data to 1300 yards
  • Bullet
    • Trajectory
    • Stability
    • Drift
  • Atmospherics
  • Ballistic Solver use (Advanced)
  • Spotting and Correction Calling
  • Wind Calling (multiple zones)

Live Fire Drills:

  • 100 Yard Zero confirmation (Paper Target)
  • Cold Bore Shot Principles (Paper and Steel Targets)
  • Steel Targets 200 Yards to 1300 Yards
  • Measure Atmospheric conditions and calculate Firing Solutions
  • Spotting and Calling Tasks
  • Wind Reading and adjustment Drills
  • Multiple Target engagement drills (Including Time Stress drills)
  • Wind Reading and adjustment drills

Equipment list:

  • Rifle capable of one minute of angle with a confirmed zero (.30 caliber max)
  • Open turret scope (Mil or MOA), Front Focal Plane preferred
  • Data Book (Impact Data Book Suggested)**
  • Bipod or other front support along with rear support bag or sock
  • Tripod system capable of mounting a precision rifle
  • Shooting mat
  • Proper Rifle Sling, not a carry strap (TAB Gear RAS or PRS Sling Suggested)
  • Cleaning gear and tools for your rifle
  • Pen, pencil, and highlighter
  • Notebook
  • Calculator
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Long-sleeved shirts and long pants
  • Durable boots or footwear
  • Rucksack or backpack to carry all gear
  • Ammunition (225-250 rounds), Match grade or hand loads (see: ammunition policy)
  • Bring weather-appropriate gear (you must prepare, we shoot in all conditions)
  • Hat or ball cap
  • Field Chair
  • Water, Field Snacks and lunch
  • Spotting Scope (if you have one)
  • Laser Range Finder (if you have one)
